Police said the fatal collision occurred on Victoria Road at the A34 roundabout in Aston shortly before 23:45 GMT on Monday.

A man was killed and another man was seriously injured in the crash.

Three people were arrested after the crash, which happened on Victoria Road at the A34 Six Ways roundabout in Aston, Birmingham, just before 23:45 GMT on Monday.

The victim was a twenty-year-old man who was traveling in the back seat of a Ford Focus that was involved in a collision with a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. One of the vehicles was left on its roof.

The occupants of the Mitsubishi left the scene but two men, aged 18 and 19, were later taken to hospital where they were held on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A third man, 41, arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, is also in police custody for questioning.

The services added that they believed “at least” another person was traveling in the Mitsubishi and appealed for them to come forward.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said it arrived at the scene and found one of the vehicles on its roof.

The second passenger in the Ford was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital with serious injuries, the service said.

She added that a third man was taken to the same hospital for treatment of injuries which are not considered serious.

Two other people in the car were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The officers assured that their thoughts were with the victim’s loved ones and pledged to do everything in their power to support them.

The roundabout reopened to traffic at around 08:15 GMT on Tuesday and Victoria Road remained closed for investigation work.

The police are asking anyone with information or footage from car cameras to contact them.
