Vermilion husband indicted in connection with wife’s suicide

VERMILION, Ohio (WOIO) – A Vermilion husband was indicted on several criminal charges in connection with his 81-year-old suicide wife’s.

According to Vermilion Police Chief Chris Hartung, officers responded to the home of Michael and Maria Krupienski on Sept. 29 for reports of a suicide.

When they arrived, officers found Maria dead of a self-inflected gunshot wound.

Chief Hartung said while under the influence of alcohol, Maria apparently voiced suicidal thoughts and Michael gave her a loaded gun.

Michael Krupienski, 71, was indicted on the charges of involuntary manslaughter, murder, tampering with evidence, and having weapons while under disability.

He is being held without bond at the Erie County Jail and is scheduled to be arraigned on Nov. 26.

The judge also ordered him to have no contact with any family members.
