Independent contractors in the rape case of actor Sandro Muhlach

FRANCIS EARL CUETO MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice said two independent contractors accused of allegedly raping actor Sandro Muhlach were arraigned in the Pasay District Trial Court.

Reports indicate that Justice Department prosecutors filed one count of rape by sexual assault and two counts of acts of lewdness against suspects identified as Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz.

They said they found prima facie evidence to provide reasonable certainty to convict Nones and Cruz.

The case will be heard by Pasay RTC Branch 115. Recall that in August, Muhlach filed a complaint with the Department of Justice with the National Bureau of Investigation against two contractors.
Both Nones and Cruz filed a counter-affidavit saying the Justice Department should dismiss the case if the allegations were not supported by documentary evidence.
