Israel launches deadly attacks in Gaza as northern areas cry for help

Palestinian authorities say the Israeli attack has decimated Gaza and killed more than 43,000 people.

In a separate attack on Lebanon’s Hezbollah, a Hamas ally that has fired thousands of rockets into Israel over the past year, killing dozens of people, Israeli forces bombed parts of Beirut and areas in the south of the country. According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, more than 2,700 people were killed in the Israeli attack.

I CAN’T SEE THE END

Israeli military and intelligence operations decapitated the leaders of both Hamas and Hezbollah, including the leader of Hezbollah and Iran ally Hassan Nasrallah.

However, Israel’s wars show no signs of slowing down.

Israel continues attacks on Gaza despite this month’s killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, the mastermind of the October 7 attacks and whose death was the war’s highest priority. Israel says 365 Israeli soldiers have been killed in Gaza over the past year, 19 of them since early October.

U.S. mediators are working on a proposal to end hostilities between Israel and the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah, starting with a 60-day ceasefire, two sources told Reuters, but Israel continued its offensive, bombing the city of Baalbek in eastern Lebanon.

As families fled the Beit Lahiya area last week, parents transported children in strollers and wooden carts and dragged suitcases through the mud.

Dalia al-Kharawat, a mother of five from Jabalia, pleaded with Gaza City residents to let her stay and is currently sleeping with her children in an open-air parking lot in a dilapidated building.

“When we need to sleep, we walk here over rubble, sand, broken glass. There is no room in the school shelters,” she said.
