Police say two Boston men have been arrested for stealing a pack of iPhones from the front porch of a Billerica home

Police said two Boston men were arrested for allegedly stealing an Apple iPhone pack from the front porch of a Billerica home.

Daneuri Diaz Romero, 24, and Yonaykin Guerrero Peguero, 25, will appear in Lowell District Court Thursday on charges of theft over $1,200, Billerica police said in a statement.

The statement said Guerrero Peguero also faces additional charges for failure to stop for police, failure to stop at a stop sign, dangerous driving and speeding.

At 11:18 a.m., police were monitoring FedEx iPhone shipments following a recent spate of thefts across the region. The affidavit says the suspect, later identified as Diaz Romero, took an iPhone box delivered to a home on Nealley Street.

Police said Diaz Romero fled in a nearby vehicle driven by another suspect, later identified as Guerrero Peguero, and threw away the package.

Billerica police provided a vehicle description and license plate number. A short time later, Burlington police spotted the vehicle in the Simonds Park area and stopped it.

Police said the men were detained without incident.
