Senator Dale Fowler hosts the 2024 Student Advisory Council

MARION, Ill. (KFVS) – Senator Dale Fowler hosted this year’s Student Advisory Council at Mtn Dew Park in Marion.

This is a program that invites high school students from the 59th Senate District to learn about government and public service.

14 schools took part in Wednesday’s event.

Students had the opportunity to hear from community leaders and discuss legislative ideas.

Students also conducted a mock legislative hearing to gain hands-on experience in the lawmaking process.

Senator Fowler is also scheduled to take the council on a tour of the Illinois State Capitol in spring 2025.
