Teenager who died in crash identified | News, sports, work

The Altoona Area High School student who died in a crash in Bedford County on Sunday night has been identified as Keagahn Smith-Price, 16. Smith-Price was one of two people killed in the crash near Breezewood, the other a high school student Altoona Area High School, which was killed in a separate crash Sunday.

According to a GoFundMe page set up to help the family, Smith-Price turned 16 the day before the accident. He was an avid Packers fan, loved football and played football in the Altoona Area.

Second Chance Strays Cat Rescue and Lounge posted on its Facebook page that Smith-Price volunteered for the rescue and spent countless hours with the cats, while also manning the front-of-house cash register during business hours.

“Whether it was heavy garbage bags full of dirty cat litter that had to be thrown in the trash, a trunk full of cat litter that had to be carried to our litter box, or bags of cat food that had to be moved Elsewhere, Keagahn was there with a smile on his face, ready to help,” the post reads, adding that he has a “big heart for animals.”

According to a Facebook post by the East End Youth Baseball League, Smith-Price was a player for that league and the Burgmeier baseball team.

According to Paula Foreman, district spokeswoman, the school district is providing counseling and grief services to students and staff following the deaths of two students.

Altoona Area senior Lundyn Treeese, 17, was killed in a crash in the city early Sunday morning.
