Grove Middle School is increasing security after a middle school student poses a threat, Elk Grove Village police say

ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (WLS) — Middle school students in the northern suburbs can expect to be more safe when they come to class this week.

Grove High School in Elk Grove Village will see increased security Thursday after a recent threat from a student.

The village police Facebook page said they were informed of the threat to the school last week. The student posted the threat on the social media platform Snapchat.

The student’s parents, believed to be responsible, have reportedly spoken to authorities.

Police said there is no current threat but plan to provide an additional police presence on Thursday as a precaution.
