“I’m a big fan of Amazon products. This is a great budget tablet reader. I have poor eyesight and reading from my phone or book is out of the question. So having a text enlarger is a huge plus. My only complaint is that there aren’t many apps to choose from. Otherwise 5*” — Bruce

“(…) I like both the image and sound quality on the tablet. I got the tablet with the intention of watching streaming movies and it was a great experience. One thing that really pleasantly surprised me was the sound! Absolutely fantastic! It’s like having surround sound while watching movies! I also include a case with the tablet, which is really nice. It took me a while to get used to the case when maneuvering it in bed while lying down, but it’s satisfactory. After all, these things are not designed with disabled people in mind. But it is a good quality tablet case. I have several cats, so the case protects them very well against the tendency to lie on the tablet. This is good protection against falling out of bed while falling asleep! For my first tablet experience, it’s great. I wonder why it took me so long to buy it!” — Helena K. “This is the BEST Amazon FIRE HD tablet yet! I have others, including 2 first-gen 8″ tablets (one with a Show charging station) and another, heavier 10″ 2020 tablet that I also like so much I haven’t replaced it! The newest one also comes in blue, which is perfect imo! Light in the hand, with lightning-fast processor performance! Exceptional battery performance and lifespan of over 12 hours! Very strong and durable! They all feature a glossy, durable glass screen. Having dropped an older 10″ tablet on a Mexican tile several times and it didn’t break anything, I now know how durable Amazon makes its tablets. I have cases for all my tablets. This time, however, I bought a cheaper stand for this latest 10-inch Fire HD tablet. Unless you’re a snob, you can’t beat the affordable price of the Amazon FIRE HD tablet with its great screens for movies, email, books, browsing, and portability, imo! Thank you Amazon!!!” — Placeholder

As an Apple user, I expected to be disappointed, but in the end I was very pleased. The screen and battery life are good. I mainly use the tablet to watch YouTube and Max, surf the Internet and read. The Silk browser works with the sites I use (e.g. O’Reilly learning). I didn’t need many apps since I have an iPhone and Mac for that. However, the M365 app works fine. It can be a bit slow trying to multitask, but it was only $75 at launch :-).” — Ed BittelBruce

This is my first time using an Amazon technology product. I really like that it is very affordable compared to its competitor, the iPad. It charges quickly and holds the charge well. The size is very suitable and not too big. Finding a compatible case is rather difficult since it is a rather new product, but I was able to purchase a cheap case for $10 from Fintie. The best thing about it is that I don’t have to worry and panic about it ever getting stolen. I can actually have a peaceful state of mind carrying this with me to school without being paranoid that the person next to me will steal it when they get the chance. It is sometimes laggy and buggy, but frequent updates always fix it. This is a great, inexpensive tablet for incoming students who can’t justify spending over $600 on an iPad for school (and believe me, you don’t need an iPad. Most students with an iPad never pay attention in class and perform very poorly by trying to “fake it” that they take notes during classes). Live frugally as a student and don’t feel like you have to have the latest technology to be successful!” — Eliza Han
