Hudson woman killed in car crash after trying to cross highway: FHP

HUDSON, Fla. – A 59-year-old Hudson woman has died after authorities say she was killed in a traffic accident Wednesday evening.

On Oct. 30 at 8:30 p.m., a white, larger SUV was traveling northbound on US-19 in Pasco County, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) said in a news release.

At the same time, a 59-year-old woman was south of Country Club Drive and was trying to cross the highway, troopers said. The woman entered the path of the SUV and was hit by the vehicle.

FHP said the SUV continued northbound without stopping or rendering aid to the woman. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries.

Police have not yet identified the driver, but are asking anyone with information about the crash to call *FHP or Crime stoppers at **TIPS.
