Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Expands Recall of Nova Farms Products

The expanded recall covers additional adult-use pre-ground cannabis flower, pre-rolls and blunts sold between August 30, 2024 and October 14, 2024.

AUGUSTA, Maine – The Maine Office of Cannabis Policy (OCP) today expands its occupational health and safety recall of adult-use cannabis products and cannabis products produced by Nova Farms. The original recall issued on October 11, 2024 involved pre-ground adult cannabis flower, pre-rolls and blunt varieties of the Frosted Cookies strain. The expanded recall includes additional pre-ground adult-use cannabis flower, rolls and blunts of the “Frosted Cookies” variety, as well as pre-ground flower of the “Frozay” variety.

Products included in the original recall were sold at 14 adult-use cannabis retail stores. Nine additional stores located in Auburn, Bethel, Bridgton, Eliot, Gardiner, Lewiston, Portland and Waterville sold products included in the extended recall. A complete list of retail stores affected by the recall can be found on the website

As part of an ongoing investigation into data irregularities between mandatory test results reported to OCP and subsequent audit tests conducted by the Office, products are being recalled due to audit tests showing unsafe levels of microorganisms (aerobic bacteria and Enterobacteriaceae) and yeasts and molds. Consumers who have purchased these products should return them to the seller or discard them. Any consumer who has ingested these products and experiences symptoms or adverse reactions should contact their physician immediately.

All cannabis used by adults must have a label attached to the packaging stating the batch number of the product. Consumers should check the label of pre-ground flower, rolls or blunts for the lot numbers listed below under “Product Information.”

This extended recall affects the following products sold in Maine between August 30, 2024 and October 14, 2024:
