Two people were identified during Tuesday’s police chase in Prattville

PRATTVILLE, Alabama (WSFA) – The police determine the identity of two suspects arrested during a police chase that ran from Prattville to Montgomery on Tuesday.

Prattville officers conducted a traffic stop at 100 North Memorial Drive around 8:45 p.m. Police Chief Mark Thompson previously said that on Oct. 2, officers spotted a driver they believed was breaking into cars in the Baptist Hospital parking lot.

Police said the driver, Joequisha Marshall, 29, of Lowndesboro, exited the vehicle and drove into the business. That’s when the passenger, James Cain Jr., 20, of Montgomery, got into the driver’s seat and drove away.

Multiple law enforcement agencies joined in the pursuit, which ultimately ended with the car crashing in the area of ​​Gibson Street and Lower Wetumpka Road in North Montgomery.

Law enforcement said Cain was seen throwing a gun from his car before his arrest. Officers recovered a firearm that was reported stolen from Elmore County.

Cain and Marshall were booked into the Autauga Metro Jail.

Cain is charged with criminal attempt to elude law enforcement, unlawful breaking and entering of a vehicle, and third-degree theft of property. His bond is set at $55,000.

Marshall is charged with failure to comply with law enforcement and resisting arrest, with bail set at $1,000.

There were no injuries during this ordeal.
