Driver and 9-year-old passenger injured in rollover west of Malta Turn

SALINE CO., Mo. (KCTV) – A driver was seriously injured after he was ejected from his vehicle during a rollover collision, and his 9-year-old passenger suffered minor injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol indicates that at approximately 5:05 PM on Thursday, October 24, emergency responders were called to the area of ​​Highway 65 and Missouri 127, approximately one and a half miles west of Malta Bend, for a report of a single-vehicle collision.

When first responders arrived, they found Zachary R. Womack, 47, of Gilliam, was driving his 2014 Kia ​​Rio north on the highway when he went off the road to the right. He then overcorrected, causing the vehicle to veer off the left side of the road, where it overturned several times.

State troopers observed that Womack was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. At that time, he was not wearing a seat belt, but he had a 9-year-old passenger traveling with him.
