15 security guards were killed in attacks in KP-Pakistan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN/LAKKI MARWAT: At least 15 security personnel have been killed in militant attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past few days, officials and sources confirm.

The deadliest incident took place in the Darazinda area of ​​Dera Ismail Khan District where 10 Border Police (FC) officers were martyred while fighting militants who stormed a checkpoint.

Sources said three personnel were injured in the crossfire between paramilitary personnel and militants.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that the attack took place on Thursday evening.

The murdered men were identified as Naib Subedar Muhammad Jan, Naik Arif, Lance Naik Saeedur Rehman, Sepoy Akhunzada, Hazratullah, Mushtaq, Abdul Samad, Imran, Basir and Mehtab.

According to the statement, six of the murdered soldiers were from South Waziristan and four were from Karak.

The injured personnel, including Naik Hamza, Sepoy Hasan and Sepoy Sabir Ayub, were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dera Ismail Khan for treatment.

“Their condition is currently stable and they are receiving the necessary care,” the ministry said.

“We pay tribute to the FC martyrs,” the statement said, adding that the sacrifices only strengthen the resolve of the armed forces to root out terrorism.

The banned organization Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the attack. He called the attack “revenge” for the operation nine fighters were killed by security forces in Bajaur on Wednesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the dead militants included two would-be suicide bombers and a leader.

Bannu attack

Police said that in another attack on Friday, three security personnel, including an army officer, were martyred in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts.

In the Jani Khel area of ​​Bannu, armed assailants opened fire on a police patrol, resulting in the death of station house officer Rehman and policeman Mir Syed.

The police official added that a passer-by, identified as Samar Ayaz, was injured in the attack. The attackers fled the scene before the arrival of support units.

“A large contingent of law enforcement officers immediately rushed to the site and began searching for the attackers,” he added.

The bodies and injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital.

After completing the medico-legal formalities, the bodies were taken to police stations for burial.

The last rites were attended by Bannu District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, police and district officials, relatives of the deceased cop and local residents.

The official said two alleged militants were also killed in an exchange of fire with police in Bannu late on Friday evening.

Gunmen attacked a patrol group on the road to Purdilkhel, leading to an intense exchange of fire.

The militants were identified as Guldar Ali alias Asim and Awais alias Haris, the official said, adding that weapons and explosives were also seized from their possession.

The policemen were not injured in the attack.

Cadet killed

In Lakki, Marwat was an untrained soldier tortured According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the attackers attacked the mosque during evening prayers.

Two other people were injured in the attack in Marmandi Multan area, police said, adding that the cadet was visiting his village on leave.

The injured residents, Nawaz Khan and Mir Shah Jahan, were rushed to a local hospital.

ISPR identified the victim as Cadet Arifullah, 19.

The statement added that he responded to militant fire and gave his life to save innocent worshipers.

The ISPR praised the cadet’s “brave act” and said the “heinous and cowardly” attack on the mosque reflected the “true ideology of the militants.”

In South Waziristan, a soldier was martyred in an attack on a checkpoint.

According to sources, militants armed with small and heavy weapons carried out an attack to which security forces responded.

As a result of the attack, one soldier was martyred, and the militants managed to escape. Forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

In Wana on Friday evening, two policemen were injured in an explosion.

Sources said that SHO Muzammil Wazir was returning home when his vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb. He was injured in the attack along with policeman Mahaz Wazir. They were transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana.

Another policeman was martyred in the Khyber district – the first such attack in three months.

Police said unknown militants attacked the Malagori police station early Friday morning.

In the crossfire, Constable Saqib Khan was martyred.

His funeral was later held at the police training center in Shah Kas. The funeral was attended by District Police Officer Rao Mazhar Iqbal, SP Investigation Officer Noorul Amin and other officials.
