Woman dead, four children injured in Phoenix crash

PHOENIX (AZ family) — A woman is dead and four children are in the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash at a major intersection in downtown Phoenix Friday afternoon.

The collision occurred just before 1:30 p.m 19th Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road. Phoenix police say the woman was taken to the hospital in critical condition and the child was also seriously injured.

The woman died a short time later.

According to the police, three other children were hospitalized as a preventive measure.

Five people, including four children, were seriously injured in the accident that occurred on Friday afternoon.

The intersection was closed for several hours but has since reopened.

Other information has not yet been released.
