VINCENT — An incident this week at Warren High School resulted in a former student facing assault charges.

According to Washington County Sheriff’s Office Maj. Brian Rhodes, the incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and involved a male juvenile living near the school who arrived on the school grounds during football practice.

“He was there and started yelling at some of the coaches, disrupting practice.” Rhodes said.

He said the juvenile male punched the coach in the face and several other coaches restrained him, then released him when he calmed down.

“He (afterwards) continued to hit some coaches.” Rhodes said.

According to Rhodes, the child is not currently a student at Warren High School because he was expelled due to a previous incident.

He did not provide more information about the expulsion.

The incident involving the minor was an isolated incident, according to Rhodes.

“There is no threat to schools” he said.

According to Rhodes, three counts of assault on a minor were forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
