A 5-year-old boy is dead after a crash on U.S. 60 near Power Road

MESA, Ariz. – A 5-year-old boy died Friday after a crash on U.S. 60 near Power Road.

Officials say deputies arrived on scene around 6:45 p.m. after bystanders found a woman and three children trapped in a vehicle following a single-vehicle collision.

The Department of Public Safety said everyone had to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to hospital for varying degrees of injuries. A 5-year-old boy died in the hospital.

The condition of the remaining children and the woman is not yet known.

It is not known what caused the disaster.
