A pedestrian has died after a crash in Rupert

RUPERT, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) – A man is dead in Rupert after being hit by a semi-truck Friday morning.

Idaho State Police responded to a crash at milepost 52 on State Highway 25.

Police say a 37-year-old Burley man was driving a semi pulling two trailers when he hit a 60-year-old pedestrian.

A second trailer hit a pedestrian when the driver swerved to avoid it.

The pedestrian died on the spot.

The westbound lanes of Highway 25 were closed for about two hours.
