The incident involved a woman who was reportedly attacked by five men while she was with her husband at a picnic spot in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh.

The incident involved a woman who was reportedly attacked by five men while she was with her husband at a picnic spot in Rewa district of Madhya Pradesh. The couple arrived on a motorcycle on October 21. According to Singh, a group of men were bathing, cooking and partying nearby when they approached the couple, attacked the husband and then separated him from his wife, after which she was raped.

A day later, the couple approached the police, which led to the filing of an FIR. Singh stated that the woman claimed there were four to five assailants, but investigation revealed that others may have assisted them.

Five unidentified people were charged with gang rape. On the day of the incident, the newlyweds first visited a local temple and then went to a picnic spot about two kilometers away. Reports indicate that the attackers were under the influence of alcohol, as police found domestically produced alcohol bottles at the scene. Most of the accused probably come from the Rewa district. Authorities are also investigating videos showing a group picnicking shortly before the couple arrived.

The woman mentioned that one of her attackers had tattoos on his hand and chest. As part of the ongoing investigation, the police arrested several people. The officer noted that a medical examination was conducted after the couple visited the police station on Tuesday.
