A Southbridge woman has died in a crash involving a UPS tractor-trailer.

A Southbridge woman died Wednesday after a crash with a UPS semi-trailer truck on I-84 in Willington, Connecticut.

According to authorities, 39-year-old Gennesse Marie Alicea died at the scene of the crash Connecticut State Police.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., Alicea was in the passenger seat of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra traveling east in the right lane near a UPS truck. The accident report published by the police shows that the Hyundai was driven by a Dutchman who tried to change lanes and enter the middle lane.

The Hyundai struck the driver’s side rear bumper, sending the Hyundai into the center lane. The Hyundai was immobilized, while the truck suffered minor damage. Holland was transported to Hartford Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
