Guwahati, Nov 23 (PTI) Unidentified persons killed four people, including three members of a family, in Assam’s Nagaon district on Saturday, police said.

Police added that the attackers entered the house of a retired Jal Jeevan Mission employee in Laokhowa Garajan area and attacked him with sharp instruments on Friday evening.

Two other family members – a daughter whose wedding is scheduled for next Wednesday and her brother – had gone to Nagaon for pre-wedding shopping.

The murdered family members were identified as Gunadhar Sarkar, Sarojini Sarkar and their youngest daughter Jayasmrita.

The identity of the fourth person and the attackers has not yet been determined.
