Fatal multi-vehicle crash that kills 3 people on South Side

SAN ANTONIO – Three people are dead following a massive multi-vehicle crash on the city’s south side.

The fatal crash happened just before 5 a.m. Friday on Roosevelt Avenue near Sava Street.

Police said two women and a man died in the three-vehicle collision.

Investigators determined that the 46-year-old suspect was driving at excessive speed and hit the rear of the vehicle with three victims inside. The force of the impact pushed the victim’s vehicle into the oncoming lane, where it was struck by another vehicle.

All three victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The medical examiner identified the two victims as 22-year-old Yareli Salas Dominguez and 25-year-old Leslie Salas Dominguez.

The suspect fled after the accident, but was later tracked down by officers and taken into custody.

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
