Breaking: Trail Blazers’ Scoot Henderson was involved in a minor car accident and left for the Rockets game

Portland Trail Blazers guard Scoot Henderson He was involved in a minor car accident on Thursday afternoon in Houston and suffered a back strain, an NBA source told The Oregonian/Oregon Live.

He will miss Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets but is expected to be OK and is believed to be “day to day.”

According to the source, Henderson was riding in the back seat of a ride-sharing vehicle that was facing backwards.

Henderson missed Wednesday’s loss in Oklahoma City with a quad injury. He was ruled out of Friday’s loss to the Rockets with the same quadriceps injury. However, he also experienced back strain.

Saturday’s injury report lists Henderson as absent with a “back strain.”

Defenseman Matisse Thybulle (ankle) and Robert Williams III (rest) are also out. Williams will likely miss both back-to-back games.

Jerami Grant (illness) is questionable. Anfernee Simons’s arm is likely to be sprained.
