Hunt for two suspects after a man was taken to hospital following an assault and robbery in West Lothian

A search has been launched for a suspect after a man was taken to hospital following an assault and robbery in West Lothian.

Officers were alerted to the attack which took place between North Bridge Street and Mansfield Street in Bathgate at around 12.45pm on Friday.

The man was robbed of his mobile phone and taken to St John’s Hospital and later released.

Police described one of the suspects as Asian and the other as Polish, both wearing reflective vests.

The Pole was described as an approximately 35-year-old man.

The services are appealing to anyone with information about the attack

Detective Constable Emma Thaker said: “The investigation is ongoing and officers are analyzing CCTV from and around the area to obtain more information about the circumstances of the incident and trace the two men responsible.

“I am asking anyone who was in the area between 12:00 and 12:45 on Friday who witnessed anything suspicious or has any information that could assist with the investigation to contact us.

“I am also asking all drivers with a dash cam to review the footage and get in touch if it contains anything relevant.

“Information must be provided 101 referring to ref. no. 1451 of November 22, 2024.”
