A 66-year-old roofer died after falling while working in Bay City

BAY CITY, Mich. (WNEM) – A 66-year-old roofer died after falling while working in Bay City in September, according to the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration (MIOSHA).

The incident took place on September 16; According to MIOSHA, the victim was working on a roof when he fell 20 feet.

Emergency services arrived at the scene and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital, MIOSHA said, adding that he died from injuries he suffered on November 20.

MIOSHA said the preliminary description reflects information provided to the administration in the preliminary incident report and is not the result of an official investigation.

This is the 31st death of a Michigan worker in 2024.
