Two arrested on suspicion of murder of a police officer in Adamawa – Nigeria – The Guardian Nigeria News – Nigeria and World News

Police in Adamawa have arrested two suspects for the alleged murder of Police Inspector Ibrahim Maizabuwa, who was the Commissioner of Police in Gombe State.

This is according to a statement by the command’s spokesman, SP Suleiman Nguroje, made in Yola on Thursday.

Nguroje said the suspects were among five other suspects who allegedly committed the crime at Wamsa Suwa village in Lamurde Local Government Area of ​​the state.

“The suspects, Ezekiel Kefas, 67, and Stephen Zabadi, 44, all residents of Wamsa Suwa village, on November 11, 2024, conspired, isolated, killed and buried the victim.

“The victim who visited them in their village demanding the return of his three cows, which he handed over to the first suspect to use and support his farming activities.

“Until November 19, 2024, when the command received a complaint from Danlami Maizabuwa, son of the victim. The suspects took detectives from the Anti-Homicide Unit of the Police Headquarters to the shallow grave of the deceased, where the body was exhumed for an autopsy,” he said.

The statement quoted Dankombo Morris, the state commissioner of police, as condemning the acts, and security personnel were deployed to arrest the fleeing suspects.

He reiterated his commitment to ensuring diligent prosecution of the suspects.
