Bengaluru: A 24-year-old woman working at a spa was found dead in Bagalagunte in north Bengaluru on Tuesday evening.
Based on preliminary findings, the police suspect that the woman committed suicide by hanging. The deceased Sonia was from Delhi and had been working at a spa as a nail technician for a month and a half.
A senior police officer said Sonia came to the city after getting a job at a health resort. She lived in a rented house, mentioned by the spa management. It appears that she decided to take this extreme step early Tuesday morning.
Noticing Sonia’s absence on Tuesday, the spa management tried to contact her via mobile phone. When the calls went unanswered, they went to her house and found the door locked from the inside. When she did not respond to knocking on the door, Bagalagunte police were alerted and the door was forced open. Sonia was found hanged in her room.
The police team did not find any death certificate. “We have informed her parents and they are expected to reach the city late on Thursday evening,” a police official said. Her parents informed the police over the phone about the difficulties she was facing at work and that they missed their family, the officer added.
