A teenager has been accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend because he wouldn’t let her look at his mobile phone.

Zoe Cooper, 18, resident student at Texas Southern University Houstonwas arrested on November 15 by TSU police, according to KHOU 11.

She was charged with second degree murder in connection with the death of 19-year-old Tadarius Massey.

Orange County Sheriff’s Office investigators said an argument broke out Aug. 14 at Cooper’s Florence Vista Boulevard, Florida, home after she became upset that Massey wouldn’t give her access to his phone.

The arrest report shows that Massey was stabbed multiple times.

Authorities said Cooper took Massey to a hospital in Ocoee, but dropped him off and did not get out of the car. While Massey’s friend helped him inside, Cooper allegedly returned home.

Massey was pronounced dead at the hospital, and an autopsy revealed that he had been stabbed in the heart and left arm. He also had two healed stab wounds to his left arm.

According to the arrest report, Cooper recorded her grief over Massey’s death on Instagram on August 15.

“If I could take it back or switch places in a heartbeat, I would,” she added, along with a photo of the former couple.

“I love you always. I’m really sorry for what I did. It wasn’t supposed to be like this.”

However, according to the arrest report, Cooper had previously assaulted Massey on his cell phone at Ocoee High School in December 2023.

She also allegedly sent text messages in the past in which she threatened to stab Massey to death and expressed regret for not killing him sooner.

According to the arrest report, Cooper sent Massey a text message in March that read: “And I will spit in your grave. I wish you had died that day. Seriously, I hope you die a very painful death.

According to authorities, the manager of the Subway restaurant where Massey worked said he would come into the restaurant looking like he had been beaten and claim that Cooper had attacked him. Cooper also allegedly watched her boyfriend at work.

An online obituary described how Massey “brought so much love into this world.”

“He was a loving child who often showed it with hugs. He was a handsome young man with a beautiful smile that melted the heart,” we read.

Massey’s aunt wrote on a GoFundMe page set up to cover funeral costs that “parents should not have to bury their children.”

“This is a huge and unexpected loss,” she added.
