A 24-year-old man, who was allegedly attacked by his friends on November 24 over an argument outside a liquor shop in Sector 66 in Noida, died early Thursday morning after three days of treatment in hospital, senior police officials said. adding that three suspects have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The deceased has been identified as Nishant Kumar alias Ankit, a resident of Khody in Ghaziabad, police said.

“On the night of November 24, Kumar along with his friends came to drink alcohol at a liquor shop in Mamura area of ​​Sector 66 in Noida. While drinking alcohol, an argument broke out between the friends, as a result of which Kumar was brutally beaten. One of the suspects allegedly smashed a liquor bottle on Kumar’s head, said Rajeev Kumar, deputy commissioner of police, Central Noida.

“When the police received information about the fight from the manager of the liquor store, a team arrived at the scene and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital, and the case under Art. 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) and 110 (culpable homicide) )Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita was registered at Phase 3 police station on November 25,” ACP Kumar said.

Police said that after three days of treatment at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, Kumar died around 3 am on Thursday due to head injuries.

“The three suspects, identified as Lavkush, 22; Sonu, 27 (single names) and Suresh Khatri, 23, all residents of Mamura Stage 3, were arrested on Thursday,” ACP Kumar said, adding that efforts are on to identify more people involved in the brawl. Further investigation is ongoing.

Man arrested for shooting at a moving bus, one injured

In another incident, a 30-year-old man was arrested for shooting at an 18-year-old man over a property dispute in a moving bus at the Knowledge Park in Greater Noida.

Police said the suspect has been identified as Sundar Singh, a native of Meerut and a resident of Jewar.

“On Wednesday evening, when Jugendra Kaur, a resident of Jewar, was traveling to Pari Chowk in a private bus along with his son Himmat Singh, the suspect Sundar, who is a distant relative, pulled out a gun and fired at him on the moving bus. Himmat suffered a bullet injury to his head and was shifted to a nearby hospital where he is undergoing treatment,” said Vipin Kumar, station house officer, Knowledge Park.

Suspect Sundar was arrested on Thursday and charged with attempted murder at the Knowledge Park Police Station.
