Human remains identified as those of a missing woman have been found in the White Tank Mountains in Arizona

WADDELL, AZ (AZ Family) — The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Amber Barnett’s body was found in the White Tank Mountains months after she disappeared while hiking.

On Thursday, deputies confirmed the remains were Barnett’s. She has been missing since April 2, 2024.

According to a flyer obtained by Arizona’s family, Barnett was initially reported missing when she failed to return from a hike in a park in Waddell, about 55 miles northwest of Phoenix.

The leaflet showed that after a search in one of the plots, her car, keys and purse were found.

Last On Sunday, a tourist noticed human remains prompting homicide detectives to investigate and identify the remains.
