The investigation showed that the 25-year-old had called his boyfriend before committing suicide

In the wake of new findings regarding the suicide of Air India pilot Srishti Tuli, an investigation has revealed that she made a video call to her friend and partner Aditya Rakesh Pandit before taking the drastic step. Tuli died by suicide on November 25, 2024, and her family suspects her partner had a role to play in the incident.

According to a report by Indian ExpressInvestigators believe that after an argument between the couple, 27-year-old Pandit left for Delhi, during which Tuli, who is two years younger than him, threatened to kill her. Sources say Indian Express that when Pandit did not respond to her distress call, Tuli made a video call to show him how she was going to hang herself.

The investigation raised suspicions about Pandit’s actions after the incident. Police sources say he deleted some of the messages exchanged between them. When asked about this, he told police he promised her that if she died, he would also die by suicide, but investigators are skeptical of his story.

According to reports about Indian Expresspolice are now trying to recover the deleted messages through forensic analysis. Moreover, the police also discovered around 10-11 phone calls and several missed calls between the couple when Pandit was allegedly returning to her apartment to stop her from taking such a drastic step. Pandit’s phone was confiscated for further investigation.

Pilot suicide

Tuli was found dead in a rented apartment in Andheri (east) behind the Marol police camp on Monday morning, November 25. Initial investigation suggests that the argument with Pandit contributed to Tula’s mental disorder, which led her to take her own life. Sources said Pandit was preparing for the pilot exam but failed to qualify it, which may have added to the tension.

Police revealed that after returning home from work on Sunday, an argument broke out and Pandit left for Delhi around 1 am. Tuli then called him and threatened to commit suicide. Pandit returned to the residence and found Tuli unresponsive.

Her family and the police were immediately notified. The preliminary investigation indicates that the tragic incident may have been caused by a fight between men.
