Two men have been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Fargo

FARGO, ND (Valley News Live) – On Monday, November 18, at 8:22 a.m., officers responded to 900 Southwood Dr. for a report of a stolen vehicle. S. The registered owner of the vehicle stated that he was last seen in a locked garage, but the keys were left inside.

The vehicle data was entered into the database of the National Criminal Information Center and the FLOCK FPD camera system. At approximately 1:00 p.m. that same day, FLOCK license plate readers notified officers of the location of the stolen vehicle and its last known direction of travel in Fargo.

Officers observed the man, identified as Valentino Barrientez, exit the driver’s seat and enter the business while two passengers remained in the car. Police say Barrientez was in possession of the keys to a stolen vehicle and drug paraphernalia when he was arrested.

At the same time, two passengers in the car were detained. One subject was observed having drug paraphernalia on his feet and was identified as Dacotah Coggins, who had multiple outstanding arrest warrants. The second passenger was released at the scene.

Barrientez, a 34-year-old Fargo resident, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to a Clay County warrant for violation of probation and a Cass County warrant for theft of a motor vehicle and unlawful entry into a vehicle, and two counts of unlawful possession of paraphernalia drug-related.

Coggins, a 24-year-old man of no permanent address, was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to Cass County warrants for driving under suspension, possession of methamphetamine and two counts of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
