Actor Julien Arnold dies on stage while performing A Christmas Carol

Actor Julien Arnold died during a performance Carol on stage.

Arnold, 60, suffered a medical emergency while performing a show at the Citadel Theater in California Edmonton, Canada November 24. He played Marley, Mr Fezziwig and Banjo wa production of Charles Dickens’ classic.

According to reports, emergency services arrived at the scene around 8:28 p.m., but despite repeated resuscitation attempts, he was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

“It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the sudden death of Julien Arnold, beloved actor and dear friend of the Citadel Theatre,” the company announced in a statement.

“Julien, a valued member of the Edmonton theater community, was a gifted performer whose charisma and talent graced our stage in countless productions, including Carol. “Julien’s death is a profound loss to his family, friends, fellow Carol members, Citadel staff and the Edmonton community he loved so much.”

It continued: “His presence brought joy, heart and depth to every role, and his artistic contributions – and big hugs – will be greatly missed. In his honor, this season Carol is dedicated to his memory. We kindly ask that you respect his family’s privacy during this difficult time. Your love, support and best wishes are deeply appreciated.”

A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to support his wife Sheina Satanove, who is the managing director of The Punctuate Theater.

The page aims to raise $75,000 (£42,000) to help Szatanove with “costs associated with his death, including funeral costs, rent, groceries and time off work while grieving.” It reads: “Julien, a valued member of the Edmonton theater community, left us doing what he loved most.” More than $55,000 (£31,000) has been raised so far.

Satanove’s Punctuate Theater also paid tribute to the star in a statement that read: “Julien was a valued member of the Edmonton theater community whose warmth, talent and generosity touched so many lives, which he left us ‘as he lived – immersed in his passion for theater.”

According to IMDB, Arnold’s other credits include a television series Mentors (1998) and film White coats (2005).
