Farmington woman arrested for assault following investigation

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, a local woman has been charged with third-degree assault following an incident that occurred earlier this week.

Deputies arrested Melinda S. Rosato, 45, at her home on Dale Drive around 8:47 p.m., Thursday. The arrest was the result of an investigation into an argument that occurred on November 26.

Authorities did not release details of the incident, but Rosato was taken into custody and taken to the Ontario County Jail. She was detained for arraignment in the CAP court.

Rosato is scheduled to appear in Farmington Municipal Court at a later date to answer to the charges. The investigation into this matter remains ongoing.

There was no further information available Friday morning.
