Man injured in shooting in Martinsville

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – A 46-year-old man was injured in a shooting Thursday in Martinsville, according to the Martinsville Police Department.

Police say officers responded to a report of a shooting at 7:52 p.m. in the 1300 block of Chatham Heights Road, where officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.

The man was transported to SOVAH in Martinsville. The police did not provide information about his condition.

Police say a suspect was identified and arrested at the scene, but that person’s identity has not been released.

Police say there is no threat to the community.
