Toronto police are looking for 4 suspects who allegedly made transphobic comments and attacked a public transport driver – CP24

Toronto police are looking for four suspects who allegedly assaulted a rideshare driver after making transphobic remarks.

The police reported that they received a report of a robbery near ul Dear Spadina and Avasouth of Eglinton Avenue West on November 3 at 1:30 a.m.

Investigators learned that the victim driving the rideshare vehicle picked up four men who then allegedly made several anti-Trans comments to them.

According to police, when the victim finished driving, two men attacked her. The victim was later taken to hospital and his injuries were considered serious but not life-threatening.

On Friday, police announced they were investigating the incident as a hate crime.
