Police said Kumar was returning home from a two-wheeler showroom in Pataudi on his scooter when the accident occurred around 7 p.m. near PS Garden in Hayatpur on Wednesday.

Investigators, citing some residents, said that at the time of the accident, the scooter was trying to overtake the scooter.

Gurugram Police Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar said the motorcyclist was thrown a few feet away and despite wearing a helmet, he suffered a serious head injury.

“The locals arranged an ambulance and took him to a private hospital in Sector 90. However, he died during treatment. The hospital authorities informed the police, following which a team reached the spot and conducted an investigation, he said.

The officer said there were no CCTV cameras at the scene and he was trying to track down the suspect vehicle using CCTV cameras from another location.

Based on a complaint lodged by the deceased’s wife Kiran Devi, an FIR was registered against the unidentified car driver under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita section of the Sector 10 police station on Thursday evening, police said, adding that the body was handed over to the family. after the autopsy.
