HOPKINSVILLE, Ky. (WSMV) – A 14-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital in Nashville after he was injured during a motocross competition in Kentucky, according to the Hopkinsville Fire Department (HFD).

HFD said it contacted the Christian County Agricultural Exhibition Center regarding reports of an injured motocross rider.

When crews arrived on scene, they were told the 14-year-old was unconscious for “several minutes” before responding.

The rider was treated at the scene, but due to the “nature of the accident,” he was treated for a suspected head injury and taken to a helicopter for transport.

HFD said the 14-year-old was transported to Vanderbilt Pediatrics for further evaluation and treatment.

According to HFD, no other motorcyclists were involved in the incident.
