MANCHESTER, Jamaica – A farmer died Friday evening from injuries suffered in a crash on the Succeed Main Road in northeast Manchester.

The deceased has been identified as Marlon Graham, otherwise known as “Chullups”, a resident of Silent Hill, Manchester.

Initial reports indicate that around 8 p.m., Graham was riding a motorcycle on the main road when, while arriving near Bell’s Funeral Home, he collided with a Toyota Axio car.

The impact threw Graham off his motorcycle and onto the road. He died on the spot.

Residents who gathered at the scene claimed that the Axio was being used to transport an injured person involved in another accident to the hospital when the fatal accident occurred.

The man, who identified himself only as “Indian,” said he had spoken to Graham moments before the crash.

“He is one of the hardest working farmers in Silent Hill. This man loves the Labor Party (Jamaica) and even came to the bar since the evening and begged me for $1000, seh “I don’t have it”. He’s begging me for $500 and I don’t have it. “He ‘gives me $200,’ and I don’t give it, and now I come and see his body on the road,” Indian said.

Graham is the third fatal crash in Manchester in just over a week.

Last Monday, retired police sergeant Lancelot Lambert, 73, also called “Robert”, died in a two-vehicle accident in Mandeville, and last Thursday Rubena Hall, 50, also called “Bena”, died after being mowed down on impact… and ran at Lindo Hill in Manchester. Hall is said to have had mental problems.
