A man arrested for beating and stripping his mother naked for hating his wife

A 23-year-old man from Mncedisi village in Lower Gweru has been arrested and charged with assault after brutally attacking his mother.

The shocking incident took place on November 18, 2024 and sparked widespread condemnation from the community.

The man, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, returned home and accused his mother of hating his wife. The confrontation turned violent when he threatened to kill her. He made chilling remarks about decapitating her before physically attacking her.

In a fit of rage, the man repeatedly struck his mother with an iron bar, aiming at her left eye, forehead and other parts of her body. Despite her attempts to escape, he went so far as to strip her nak3d to prevent her from escaping.

Her cries for help alerted neighbors who intervened and managed to save her from further harm. The woman suffered serious injuries, including a deep wound on her forehead and swelling around her left eye, which required urgent medical attention.

After the attack, the man was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He appeared before the Gweru Magistrates Court where details of his brutal actions were revealed. On November 29, 2024, the court found him guilty of the charges brought against him.

He was remanded in custody and is scheduled to return to court on December 3, 2024 for sentencing.
