My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar has died at the age of 44

Bob Bryar, who played drums in My Chemical Romance from 2004 to 2010, has died. According to TMZ Bryar’s body was found on November 27 in his Tennessee home. He was last seen alive on November 4.

Bryar joined the band in 2004 after the release of the album “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge”. He participated in the band’s subsequent tours and played drums on “The Black Parade”, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys” and the later rarities collection “Conventional Weapons”.

In an interview with Press Alt in 2016, Bryar admitted that he was “nervous” while recording “The Black Parade”. He explained: Apart from being nervous, we all had to feel the writing dynamics between all of us. I was very vocal about my drum parts, but I let the other guys do their thing because they were doing so well and didn’t need someone to honk every second.

“This leads me to remember one occasion when it was very late and only G, the engineer and I were in the studio. I could still hear the vocal harmony. It was the first time I had the courage to ask someone to try something. That idea ended up on the record, which was really nice for me to see,” Bryar added.

After leaving My Chemical Romance, Bryar worked in the music industry as a tour manager.

In 2020, Bryara wrote the obituary for Rush drummer Neil Peart. “I was taught that there are basically three categories of drummers: good drummers who have crazy hooks and play jazz or jazz fusion; marching drummers; and then rock drummers. “I got it into my head that rock drummers just hit everything as hard as they can and then break the kit and pee in their pants and throw up on everyone,” he wrote.

“Then I saw Rush. Holy st. Neil Peart played rock music, but he played it musically. Neil didn’t spit on everyone and hit everything as hard as he could, but he still played rock music. It was a life-changing moment for me,” Bryar continued.

Three years later, Bryar published a lengthy memo on social media in which he admitted to being lonely and noted that he had difficulty receiving negative messages and attention from strangers online. Bryar also revealed that he planned to end his own life after ending his relationship, losing all his pets “who were like children,” and that several friends died or disappeared.

“I was in a really bad moment, I really didn’t want and didn’t want to die,” Bryar wrote. “I was just an angry and confused dude.”

Bryar was not scheduled to tour next year with My Chemical Romance.

Bob Bryar was born on December 31, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois.
