  • In 1989 he founded George Allan’s Greengrocers, a business that turned over £7.5 million.
  • Gregg’s experience in the world of fruit and vegetables saw him co-host Veg Talk on BBC Radio 4 with Charlie Hicks for seven years.
  • He then became the first host Saturday Kitchen in 2002, a position he held for one year, and was replaced in 2003 by Antony Worrall Thompson.
  • At the same time, Gregg presented a number of food-related television shows, including Veg Out for the Discovery Channel.
  • Gregg landed his most famous television role as co-presenter and judge of a rival BBC cooking show MasterChef in 2005. She appears alongside him John Torode.
