Archie and Lilibet prepare for a ‘special’ Christmas, and Meghan prepares for a ‘bittersweet’ moment | Royal | News

A source claims Prince Archie and Duchess Lilibet will be celebrating a “special” Christmas this year, and their mother, Meghan Markle, is preparing for a “bittersweet” moment.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to spend the holiday season in Montecito, California, where they live with their family; However, according to reports, both are estranged from their families, with only Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, reportedly joining them.

Archie and Lilibet are now old enough to fully “understand” when it comes to celebrations, as they are said to be looking forward to their “special” day.

A source told OK!: “This year feels special because both kids fully understand it – they have been talking about Santa and Christmas for weeks.

“They always wait until Thanksgiving is over before they put up the tree and decorations, but they will go OTT!

“Kids will have their own tree to decorate and the main tree will be a little more color coordinated! Lots of people will be coming over for the holidays – Doria will even move in for a while.”

They added: “Christmas is Meghan’s favorite time of year, she loves seeing everyone on Thanksgiving and then everyone starts the full countdown to Christmas.

“Harry is very excited too and loves seeing how excited Archie and Lilbet are.

“Sometimes he can’t believe how lucky he is to have them.”

The source added that Christmas is often a “bittersweet” moment for the couple, who “wish they could have all their families together.”

They said: “They (Harry and Meghan) really want all families to be together and have a wonderful Christmas, but they know that will never happen.

“So they need to create new memories and traditions with their children and those close to them.”
