If you’re looking to secure federal financial aid – in the form of student loans, grants, scholarships, or work-study funds – to help cover the costs of an undergraduate or graduate degree, you probably know that completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is essential. But then failure with last year’s introduction of the supposedly revamped FAFSA, students and parents alike may (understandably) be concerned about how this year will go.

In early October, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona “assured college leaders in a letter that the department has ‘all hands on deck’ to meet the new schedule this year, saying the government is working to publish the 2025-2026 form due to best practices software industry,” he said Money.
