1 dead, 1 in critical condition after car bursts into flames following crash outside Miami high school – WSVN 7News | Miami news, weather, sports

MIAMI (WSVN) – One person is dead and another is in critical condition after a two-vehicle crash that set the cars on fire outside a Miami high school.

Miami Fire and Police responded to the scene Monday afternoon, just outside iTech, Miami’s Mega Technology Magnet High School, located at 6101 NW 2nd Avenue.

A school board official was allegedly the first to notify authorities after witnessing the crash.

7Skyforce hovered over the scene where crews surrounded several vehicles that burst into flames after the crash.

The cell phone recording showed the moments when one of the vehicles burst into flames. Flames were seen coming from the car.

According to rescue teams, at least one person fell out of one of the vehicles and suffered burns.

The person was transported to the Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

According to Miami police, four victims were involved in the incident.

Roads remain closed between Northwest 60th Street and 61st Street and Second Avenue.

The vehicle did not make contact with the school.

An investigation into the causes of the crash is ongoing.
