Jennifer Gledhill’s alleged husband killer wants to talk to her children

Rich Utah Mom Accused of Shooting Her Sleeping Husband he was buried in a shallow grave after an argument over her affair, she now complains that she is not allowed to contact her children in prison.

The lawyer of her husband’s alleged killer, Jennifer Gledhill (41), complained during Friday’s hearing about her “lost freedom” and accused the judge hearing the case of setting fire to “everything she loves” when he banned her from talking to her three children. Fox 13 reported the story.

The children, ages 5, 7 and 11, have been in the care of child services since their mother was arrested for the alleged murder of her husband, Matthew Johnson, at their home in Cottonwood Heights, near Salt Lake City.

According to the website, the cold-blooded murder allegedly took place after a night spent under the influence of alcohol, during which Gledhill admitted that he had slept with another man.

Officials say that after a heated shouting match, she shot Johnson in the head as he slept, buried him in a shallow grave and she reported to her parents to help her clean up the crime scene.

Police have not yet found Johnson’s body.

Gledhill reported her husband missing, but a man claiming to be her lover told police she had told him about the murder.

Police picked up her parents – Thomas Ray Gledhill, 71, and Rosalie Christianson Gledhill, 67 – on Thursday on charges of obstruction of justice.

“The defendant told the informant that she shot Mr. Johnson (the next day) while he was sleeping in their bed,” Salt Lake County District Attorney Sim Gill said in court.

“She told the informant that she placed Mr. Johnson’s body in a container on the roof, slid him down the steps of their home and loaded his body into the back of their minivan.”

Gledhill “then took her husband’s body north, dug a hole and buried him in a shallow grave,” the prosecutor added.

Gledhill’s attorney argued that her children are neither victims of this case nor of previous domestic violence, and therefore she should be allowed contact, according to Fox 13.

He also argued that the original no-contact order was “improperly filed and allowed.”

Judge Adam Mow agreed to lift the initial protective order but issued a separate no-contact order that prohibits Glendhill from communicating with the children. But Mow said he might be willing to ease those restrictions as the case develops.

Gledhill faces one count of first-degree murder, five counts of second-degree obstruction of justice, and charges of drug possession, witness tampering and desecration of a human body.
