The trial of a man who allegedly shot two people in a dorm room has been postponed

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KJCT) – The trial is underway for a man accused of killing two people in a dorm room.

Nicholas Jordan appeared in court on Friday. His lawyer asked for a six-week break. They claim Jordan cannot help in his defense because he is “seriously mentally ill.”

Two separate evaluations conducted earlier this spring found he was competent to stand trial. The judge scheduled Jordan’s next arraignment for Nov. 22 and said a plea should be filed then.

Jordan is accused of fatally shooting his roommate and another person in a dorm room in February.

The 25-year-old is in custody on $5 million bail.
