The ATF and FBI are offering a homicide reward in connection with an alleged series of gang-related shootings in Lancaster

LANCASTER, S.C. (NEWS FROM THE QUEEN’S CITY) — A reward is being offered for information about six simultaneous shootings in early September believed to be retaliatory and gang-related.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) are offering up to $20,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those involved in the shootings.

Jelani Jackson, 18 died in a drive-by shooting on Clinton Avenue on Wednesday, September 4. Authorities say arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, but they want to find anyone else who may have been involved.

The next day, several homes near Pardue Street and East Arch Street were hit by gunfire. More houses near City Avenue were also shot at that day.

According to authorities, two days later, on Saturday, September 7, at approximately 2:22 a.m., a shooting near Shelton Street injured one person and damaged several homes. A short time later, another shooting occurred at Cane Mill Road and Oxford Circle. No one was hurt in this incident.

Authorities said there was another shooting on Foster Heights Drive on Wednesday, Sept. 11. No one was injured, but a Dodge Charger is believed to have been involved.

“People expect to be safe in their homes,” said Lancaster County Sheriff Barry Faile. “This mass shooting is destroying property and injuring and killing people, including those who have nothing to do with the disputes between the shooters. This has to end. We are using all available resources, both locally and through our federal partners, to solve these shootings and put those responsible for them in prison.”

The incidents are being investigated by the ATF, FBI, Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office and Lancaster Police.
