BJP demands arrest of poll violence accused, Preneet joins protest

BJP leader Preneet Kaur and her daughter Jai Inder Kaur joined the family of a youth who was allegedly shot at during election-related violence in Sanaur district. The family went on a hunger strike in front of the SSP office, demanding the arrest of the perpetrator of violence. “The AAP government shielding the perpetrators is unacceptable,” Jai Inder Kaur said.

“The 15-day delay in the arrest has undermined public confidence in law enforcement. We demand speedy justice and accountability from the Bhagwant Mann-led government,” she added. Jai Inder Kaur slammed the AAP government’s lapses in the field of law and order.

SP Sarfraz Alam met the protesters and called for an end to the hunger strike, while assuring that action would be taken against the perpetrators. After the assurances, the protest was canceled.
