Suspect on bail for alleged drug possession arrested on concealed weapon charges

A man arrested for allegedly carrying a concealed AR-15-style weapon is expected to face further charges for allegedly making a 3D-printed weapon, authorities said Monday.

The suspect was released from custody after posting bond on a May felony charge of possession of a controlled substance when he was arrested on a concealed weapons charge, the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said on social media.

The Gun Violence Task Force, which includes officers from the sheriff’s office and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), learned that the man “printed, installed and advertised machine gun conversion devices (MCD) for Glock pistols,” the department wrote. Authorities said MCD could be used to convert a semi-automatic pistol or rifle into an automatic firearm.

Officers executed a search warrant and allegedly recovered a 3D printer, a 3D printed handgun and 13 Glock MCDs.

The sheriff’s office will file additional charges, according to a social media post. The post did not name a suspect. A spokesman for the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office did not immediately respond to a message seeking information.
